The program of preparation for First Holy Communion involves the home, school, and parish. It is this three-fold partnership that will enable children to learn, deepen, and enrich their faith and grow in love for the body and blood of Christ.
The home is the most important element of this partnership as parents are the first and best teachers of their children. The school and parish will support and celebrate what is being taught and lived in the home.
Preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion is a very special time for children as they celebrate the second stage of their initiation into the Catholic Church.
Parents and guardians will be invited through their school to register their child with the parish and once registered we can keep in touch with them over the year through email.
There are a number of preparation masses held during the year on the last weekend of the month. These masses are celebrated on Saturday evening at 6.00 pm and Sunday morning at 10.30 am and 12.00 noon
Communion in the Home
Our Eucharistic ministers bring Communion to those who are housebound. This can be of great comfort to those who are unable to attend Mass. If you know of anyone who would like to receive Communion in the home please contact the parish office at [email protected]
